When the farmhouse was renovated, the owners were particularly keen to ensure everything was done with the environment in mind and thus many eco-friendly features have been installed as below:

• Carbon neutral heating, hot water and electricity is provided by a wood pellet boiler and wood burner, a high-tech Finnish heat storage system for 4.5 thousand litres of water and zoned underfloor heating.
• There’s fresh air ventilation with an integrated heat recovery system to maximise efficiency, an air and heat recycling system
• Heavily insulated walls and roof (complying with RT2012 regulation) and double-glazed windows.
• Enhanced by Hans Grohe eco-smart bathroom taps and showers, powerful and efficient.
• Locally sourced materials have been used in the restoration where possible; limestone flooring from Burgundy, local old beams, plastered walls and wide planked oak flooring.
• All appliances are A rated or above, energy-efficient helping reduce carbon emissions.
• The traditional Mazot with Swedish sauna is insulated.
• A menu has been created to ensure very little wastage and one of the menus features a range of delicious plant-based dishes.
• All packaging waste is recycled where possible.
• The gardens feature newly planted native plants and trees, an orchard and meadow of wildflowers and over 500 new hedges were planted to provide privacy and natural greenery.
