Samoëns has over 25 locally owned and run restaurants including bistros, gourmet, international cuisine, traditional French Savoyard and Pizzerias for lunches and an evening meal on one night. They are all very proud of the quality of their food, friendly service and use locally sourced produce. There are also plenty of restaurants to choose from on the mountains.
For traditional Savoyard specialities such as fondue, raclette, tartiflette and pierrades as well as pizzas, we thoroughly recommend the authentic, chalet-style Le Sérac. The Louisiane is also popular and Le Monde à l’Envers has a good varied French menu. For fine dining with local produce, head to La Table de Fifine. The restaurant at the 4 star Hotel Neige et Roc is also a great choice for dinner. 8M des Monts offers a small, frequently changing home-cooked menu incorporating fresh, locally sourced ingredients and is a great choice if you’re looking for a refreshing change from Savoyard food. On the mountain both Le Luge à Téranand & Le Chalet d’Clair are excellent choices which serve great food in an idyllic location.
There are plenty of activities for non-skiers or should you wish to take an afternoon off skiing, all of which can be booked in advance or on arrival for you. Resorts have massively increased the range of activities on offer in recent times, Samoëns in particular. Should you be so inclined you can opt for the ultimate adrenalin rush of white water rafting in winter!
We can arrange childcare in the comfort of the chalet with the fabulous Samoëns Nannies. They offer full day care (8 hours) or half days (4 hours morning or afternoon), can collect your children from ski school and provide care from 11.30-16.30 and also offer baby-sitting in the evening (minimum 3 hours).
Children from the age of 3 can have fun whilst learning the basics in preparation for ski lessons with the ESF ski school in the mornings and/or afternoons and there is also a French crèche located very close to the bottom of the main Grand Massif Express gondola for children from 4 months to 5 years old.
We are delighted to work with Massage Me, the leading mobile massage service in the Alps. They offer a range of relaxing massages and treatments in the comfort of the chalet. They also offer massages for mums to be. These can be booked in advance or on arrival.
There are several places that offer a range of relaxing beauty treatments from facials to full body. Booking treatments will give access to their other facilities like swimming pools, steam rooms and jacuzzis. These can be booked in advance or on arrival.
We are delighted to be able to offer yoga sessions at the chalet, held in the wonderful setting in the Barn. The sessions are run by Julia Barnes and are a perfect complement to skiing for your body. Just let your Hosts know you wish to book and they will arrange it depending on availability.
